I love all things food and travel (and golf). Period. That's it. This conversation can be over now, that's all you need to know about me.
Oh shoot, wait you were hoping for more?
Alright well, I like pasta. And Denmark.
No? That's not enough....
Alright well growing up I loved to bake. My sister and I would fight each year over who got to make mom's birthday cake. Eventually, we couldn't agree so we'd just each make a cake and then it always became a competition between whose cake was better....(duh, I'm a perfectionist, mine was ALWAYS the best). Now that I've got a kitchen of my own, there is always something brewing, grilling, baking, stewing, steaming...butternut apple squash soup in the fall, chicken veggie chilli in the winter, and in the summer, well I just grill everything.
Ok and Denmark (well and traveling all together). Well I spent spring of my junior year studying abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark. Never heard of it? Well go. Just get on a plane - yes, there is a flight direct from NYC - and just GO! It's an amazing city. Everyone speaks English (bonus!), it's really easy to get around and it's just beautiful. Overall it was a really great experience as was the visiting a different country every weekend. You can check out more here.(Note: Don't judge the colors...I was in a different phase.)

Golf. Ok so I played in high school and really loved it. I spent my summers between college semesters teaching junior golf at my home course back in CT. Loved. It. It was such a rewarding experience to have students come back year after year and see improvement. One of my students even won the Junior Club Championship! Now I play for fun almost every weekend with my guy friends. Ladies, take up golf!! You get to meet all the boys that way and they think it's fun to play with cute girls! (as long as you're not horrendous...but if you take lessons from me...you won't be)

Photography. So my photography skills leave something to be desired but I'm learning. I shoot with a Nikon D3000 that I'm still learning how to use properly.
Yea the title of the blog....I know you're wondering "um so I don't get it....the orange lens?" For those of you that know me, you know I love to wear my orange Ray-Bans and it's something that my friends always identify me by. "The Orange Lens" is a chronicle of the things that are on my mind, the places I get to see, and the people who are along for the ride. I can't promise to write anything riveting or to post any life-changing pictures but I hope you find the little things in life just a little more interesting. I can promise to post recipes that will blow your mind - hefty promise.
